InSync - Backup, Synchronize and Mirror Your Important Data
There are several things you are going to like about the Dillobits Software-developed application InSync and one little thing you may not like about it. Let’s take a look at your InSync experience, in a logical progression, and see what you will like and what you may not like.
The first step you must take, should you decide to put InSync to the test, is to get the application off the web and onto your computer. The download weighs in at 6.6MB, so it shouldn’t take too long for the download to complete. To my mind, not having to wait a long time for a download to complete is always a nice thing – and something you will like.
The second step you must take is to install the application on your Windows powered computer. You will like that this is a simple, straightforward process that completes in very little time. All you have to do is launch the InSync executable you downloaded and follow the steps presented by the setup wizard; you will be done before you know it.
You will also like that InSync provides support for several versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. At the time of writing this and according to the developer, InSync provides support for the following Windows versions: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit editions).
Once InSync is up and running, you will like what it can do for you. Here is the functionality you can expect to get from InSync:
- Backup and/or synchronize folders
- Mirroring or 2-way synchronization is supported
- Backup, synchronize folders manually or use the scheduling feature
- Check for errors by simulating jobs
- NTFS permissions, ownership, and group information is preserved
- Locked files on NTFS can be backed up and synchronized
- FAT, FAT32, VFAT, NTFS, CDFS and UDF are supported
- Long path names are supported
- International character sets in folder and file names are supported
- Use any type of storage media, including external hard drives, USB drives, CD-RW, DVD, NAS, Zip Disks, Workstations, Laptops, Desktops, Netbooks, Servers, LAN, WAN, VPN, Networks and so on.
You will like that you can use the functionality InSync provides for a lengthy trial period of 30 days. You will also like that the trial version of InSync is fully functional. What you may not like is that once the trial period is over, you will have to part with your hard earned money and get a license to keep using InSync.
